Advancing the neuroscience of ethical horsemanship.

Dr. Steve Peters has devoted his life to understanding how the mind learns, changes, and communicates. Known worldwide for bringing neuroscience to the horse world, he helps riders, trainers, body workers, veterinarians, and therapists involved in equine-assisted and therapeutic riding programs understand how the horse’s brain works—and how that knowledge can transform connection, trust, and welfare.

An Unlikely Journey to Brain Science

Before dedicating his life to neuroscience, Dr. Peters served in the U.S. Navy and later worked in the financial industry with Goldman Sachs. A personal tragedy shifted the course of his life, leading him to study the human brain—and, eventually, the horse’s brain. Today, he brings that journey full circle, combining science, empathy, and experience to help people and horses understand one another more deeply. To Learn More about Dr. Steve Peters.
